Recruited from local side Geelong West, Alwyn Lindsay was a diminutive utility who carved out a three-season career at Kardinia Park during the immediate post-war era. Standing at just 168cm, the lightweight play-maker relied on agility and versatility to hold his own at VFL level, featuring primarily as a rover or flanker in a Geelong side that was continually reshaping its list during the mid-1940s. After 31 senior appearances, he departed the league to return to his original club, eventually serving as captain-coach for Geelong West in the Ballarat Football League.
