Bio
A local talent from Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, Andrew Boston was secured by the Suns with pick 55 in the 2013 Rookie Draft. A smart small forward capable of rotating through the midfield, he possessed clean hands and good goal sense, earning a senior debut in his first season against the Adelaide Crows. After playing 16 games across three seasons and battling various injuries, Boston made the surprise decision to retire at just 21 years of age at the end of 2015. Although the Suns offered him a contract extension, he cited a loss of passion for the rigours of professional football and opted to return to state-league level, where he subsequently established himself as a premier player and captain for the Southport Sharks.
