Bio
Recruited from South Adelaide in the SANFL, Andrew Brockhurst arrived at Fitzroy as a mature-age recruit carrying the weight of expectation that came with being Pick 4 in the 1987 National Draft. Standing 188cm, he was a rangy utility best suited to a half-back flank or the wing, where he could use his height to intercept and drive the ball forward. He made an immediate impact with a 20-disposal performance on debut against the Brisbane Bears in 1988, but he was unable to consistently replicate that ball-winning form throughout his three seasons with the Lions. Brockhurst returned to South Australia in 1991, resuming a distinguished career with the Panthers that saw him play over 130 state-league games and eventually serve as the club's senior women's coach.
