Bio
A local recruit from St Kilda City, Andrew Cross was a goal-kicking rover who experienced a stop-start beginning to his VFL career. After debuting as a teenager in 1979, he largely disappeared from senior ranks for two seasons before returning in 1983 with a rich vein of form, averaging 20 disposals and hitting the scoreboard regularly. He finally found weekly consistency after crossing to Fitzroy in 1985, missing just three games for the season, which prompted Richmond to secure his services for a high transfer fee the following year. However, the move to Punt Road proved disappointing, as Cross managed only a solitary senior appearance for the Tigers before his top-level career concluded.
