Bio
Recruited as a mature-age prospect from Woodville-West Torrens, Andrew Crowell was a versatile utility who carved out a niche as a reliable role player for the Adelaide Crows in the early 2000s. Capable of filling positions at both ends of the ground, he enjoyed his most consistent campaign in 2001, featuring in 21 matches where his strong overhead marking and disciplined work rate were utilised effectively, often in defensive forward roles. Crowell provided valuable flexibility to Gary Ayres' structure, tasked with nullifying rebounding defenders or plugging gaps in the backline when required. Despite this utility value, he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the starting 22 in subsequent years and was eventually delisted following the 2003 season.
