Bio
Recruited from the Northern Knights with pick 60 in the 1996 National Draft, Andrew Eccles is best remembered as the youngest member of Adelaide’s 1998 Premiership side. After spending his first season developing in the SANFL with Norwood, he broke into the senior team in 1998 as a pacey winger, using his speed and distinctive "goose-step" kicking style to play a valuable role in the Crows' back-to-back flag triumph. However, his promising start was soon derailed by persistent hamstring and soft-tissue injuries that restricted his ability to stay on the park. Seeking a fresh start, he was traded to Carlton at the end of 2001 in a direct swap for defender Kris Massie, but the move failed to reignite his career. Eccles struggled for consistency and fitness at Princes Park, managing just 13 games over two seasons before being delisted.
