Bio
A lifelong Bulldogs supporter from North Sunshine, Andrew Howlett lived out a boyhood dream when he graduated from the club's Under 19s program to make his senior debut in 1987. Standing 188cm, he was a versatile option capable of playing forward or back, managing to boot a goal during his brief taste of VFL action. However, his progress was cruelly halted by a severe ankle ligament injury sustained in a tangle of legs with North Melbourne's Andrew Demetriou, an issue that lingered and contributed to his delisting in mid-1988 as the cash-strapped club tightened its list. Howlett refused to let the setback end his football journey, subsequently forging a distinguished decade-long career with Williamstown in the VFA and later returning to the Bulldogs off-field as the treasurer of the Past Players & Officials Association.
