Bio
Recruited from TFL powerhouse Hobart following a premiership campaign, Andrew Lamprill arrived at Melbourne as a prized top-10 draft selection in 1991. He produced a dream start to his AFL career by booting a goal with his very first kick against Geelong, but his subsequent transition to the elite level was heavily restricted by persistent setbacks. While initially viewed as a forward, the left-footer reshaped his game to become a solid defender, though knee and groin injuries limited him to just 10 games in his first three seasons. He finally enjoyed a run of consistency in the backline during 1995 and 1996, proving a capable defensive option, before a broken collarbone late in 1997 brought a premature end to his tenure at the Demons.
