Teams

Recruited by West Coast with the fifth selection in the 2000 National Draft, Andrew McDougall was a highly touted tall forward and relief ruckman whose career was largely defined by persistent injury setbacks. Despite boasting strong hands and impressive athleticism for his size, he struggled to cement a regular spot in the Eagles' powerful lineup, often finding himself stuck behind established big men in the pecking order. Seeking to revitalise his career, he was traded to the Western Bulldogs ahead of the 2007 season in exchange for a second-round pick. However, his time at Whitten Oval was similarly frustrated by fitness issues and form struggles, eventually leading to his retirement from the AFL at the conclusion of the 2008 season.
