Bio
Recruited from Albion in the Footscray District League, Andrew Taylor broke into the Footscray senior side as a teenager in 1983 but managed only one VFL appearance before moving to South Australia to play for Woodville. His strong form in the SANFL earned him a second chance at the elite level with the Brisbane Bears in 1988, where he quickly demonstrated his utility as a half-forward flanker. Taylor played his best football during his first season in Queensland, including a standout 23-disposal performance against Carlton that attracted maximum Brownlow votes. He remained with the Bears for four seasons, featuring in the club's 1991 reserves premiership side, before returning to South Australia to become a star goalkicker for Woodville-West Torrens.
