Bio
Recruited by Essendon with pick 35 in the 1996 National Draft, Andrew Ukovic was a versatile key position prospect from the Northern Knights who could operate in the ruck, defence, or attack. He faced the difficult task of breaking into a formidable Bombers outfit destined for premiership success, resulting in limited senior exposure during his three years at Windy Hill. In search of regular senior football, Ukovic was traded to Collingwood at the end of 1999, arriving at Victoria Park just as Mick Malthouse began reshuffling the playing list. While he provided the Magpies with a tall option capable of pinch-hitting in the ruck or holding down a key post, he struggled to find consistency at the elite level and was delisted following the 2001 season.
