Instantly recognisable by his signature shaved head and energetic playing style, Andrew Wills was a versatile utility who carved out a reputable career across three clubs during the 1990s. Recruited from Barwon in the local Geelong leagues, he broke into a formidable Cats lineup in the early 90s, establishing himself as a dangerous option on the wing and half-forward flank. He became a regular fixture in Malcolm Blight’s high-scoring system, earning selection in both the 1992 and 1994 Grand Final sides, though he ultimately tasted defeat in both premiership deciders.

Wills departed Geelong at the end of 1994 to become an inaugural member of the Fremantle Dockers, bringing valuable finals experience to the league’s newest franchise. He was a key contributor during the club’s foundation years, offering goal-kicking support and midfield drive for a developing list. After five seasons in the west, he returned to Victoria when he was thrown a lifeline by the Western Bulldogs in the 2000 pre-season draft. While his time at the Kennel was brief, Wills retired as a centurion goal-kicker who had played over 100 games at the elite level, remembered fondly by fans as a cult figure of the era.
