Stats
Bio
Standing at a diminutive 164cm, Andy Brannan was a lively rover and forward pocket who proved to be a dangerous goal-kicker during the wartime era. Recruited from Malvern, he joined a powerful Richmond outfit and immediately displayed a nose for goal, maintaining a strike rate of well over a goal a game during his time at Punt Road. Despite his offensive output, Brannan was squeezed out of the Tigers' star-studded lineup for both the 1942 and 1943 Grand Finals, sitting behind established stars like Dick Harris. Seeking greater opportunity, he crossed to Hawthorn in 1944, where he became a consistent scorer for the Hawks over three seasons. He later continued his contribution to the game as the inaugural coach of the ANZ Bank Football Club in the amateur leagues.
