Bio
Recruited from the small northern Victorian town of Gunbower, Andy McGillivray was a tall utility who briefly featured for Geelong during the 1977 season. Standing 188cm, he possessed the size to play as a key position option and demonstrated immediate goal sense, booting four majors across his six senior appearances. Although his time at the elite level was limited to a single winter at Kardinia Park, he managed to impact the scoreboard in his short stint before his VFL career concluded. He represents the classic era of country recruits who travelled from the bush to test their mettle in the league, adding his name to the Cats' history books as a serviceable forward option during a transitional period for the club.
