Bio
Recruited from the Northern Territory via Melbourne's Next Generation Academy, Andy Moniz-Wakefield joined the Demons as a Category B rookie ahead of the 2022 season. He served a lengthy apprenticeship with the Casey Demons in the VFL, where he developed a reputation as a rebounding defender with excellent speed and agility. Despite his consistent form at state league level, breaking into Melbourne's experienced defensive rotation proved difficult, and he was forced to wait until his third season to make his senior debut. A running half-back capable of breaking lines and using the ball efficiently, Moniz-Wakefield spent the bulk of this period providing depth to the squad, managing sporadic appearances while fighting to secure a regular spot in the senior side.
