Bio
Recruited from The Basin via the North Melbourne Under 19s, Angelo Petraglia was a lively rover who found his true footballing home after a rocky start. Following a brief taste of senior action with the Kangaroos, he was delisted and spent time with Port Melbourne in the VFA before Footscray offered him a lifeline in late 1985. Petraglia grasped the second chance with both hands, evolving into a dangerous crumbing forward at the Western Oval who knew where the goals were. He became a consistent contributor for the Bulldogs during the mid-80s, playing his best football as a regular senior fixture before a knee injury forced a premature retirement. A proud representative of the game's multicultural history, he was later named in the Italian Team of the Century.
