Originally drafted by Hawthorn with pick 55 in the 2010 National Draft under the surname Litherland, Angus Dewar was a dashing defender renowned for his blistering pace. Despite his athletic gifts, he faced the unenviable task of breaking into Hawthorn's triple-premiership backline, resulting in just 25 games across six seasons before he was delisted. Dewar returned to Western Australia and established himself as a premier defender for Subiaco in the WAFL, eventually adopting his father's surname. He received a surprise AFL lifeline in 2022 when West Coast added him to their list via the Pre-Season Supplementary Selection (SSP) to cover an injury crisis, allowing him to add a single game for the Eagles to his career tally before resuming his status as a decorated state league stalwart.
