Bio
Recruited from Mooroopna in the Goulburn Valley, Angus MacIsaac was a versatile big man who is celebrated as the first Assumption College alumnus to play VFL football. Standing 187cm, he was the tallest player on the Richmond list for much of his tenure, utilizing a tremendous leap and reach to operate effectively as a follower or centre half-back. His time at Punt Road was defined by a major permit controversy in 1924; after a breakout season where he won the club’s Most Improved award, he was deregistered for the entire 1925 season for defying VFL orders to play in a country grand final after his VFL commitments had ended. MacIsaac returned to the fold to play in the Tigers' 1927 Grand Final loss to Collingwood, eventually departing to captain-coach South Bendigo before his life was tragically cut short in a level crossing accident in 1944.
