Bio
Recruited as a Category B rookie from the Sandringham Dragons, Angus McLennan was a dual-sport athlete who originally appeared destined for an elite cricket career, having represented Victoria at under-19 level before committing to football. He joined St Kilda ahead of the 2023 season but endured a frustrating start to his time at Moorabbin, with a serious back stress fracture wiping out his entire first year. A medium-sized intercept defender noted for his strong overhead marking and composure behind the ball—traits often attributed to his background as a batsman—McLennan eventually earned his senior debut in the final round of 2024 against Carlton. Despite showing promise in the VFL, he found opportunities at the top level limited, managing just three senior games across three seasons before his time with the Saints concluded at the end of 2025.
