Bio
Angus Tippett came through the community football ranks with Point Cook before making his mark in the Talent League for the Western Jets, where he served as captain in his draft year. The big-bodied prospect was a prominent figure for Vic Metro at the National Championships, helping his state secure the title with standout performances against the Allies and Vic Country. His exceptional domestic campaign was recognised with a tied-third finish in the Morrish Medal as the Talent League best and fairest player, and he later earned an invitation to the state draft combine.
Although listed as a key forward, Tippett has thrived as part of a new breed of tall inside midfielders. He uses his imposing frame to his advantage at stoppages, competes fiercely to win his own ball and acts as a physical presence around the contest. Scouts have praised his natural ball-winning abilities, but note his next steps are improving his composure in possession, refining his decision making by foot and lifting his overall athletic output. Heading into the AFL Draft, Tippett is widely rated as a top-50 prospect.
