Bio
The son of Derry Gaelic football legend and former Melbourne prospect Anthony Tohill, Anton Tohill followed in his father's footsteps by pursuing an AFL career as an international recruit. Standing at 200cm, the County Derry native impressed scouts at the AFL Europe combine before signing with Collingwood as a Category B rookie ahead of the 2019 season. A raw but athletic tall utility, Tohill spent the majority of his tenure developing his craft in the VFL, where he was utilised in various key position roles to leverage his height and agility. After two seasons of development interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, he made his sole senior appearance in Round 19, 2021 against Port Adelaide. Despite breaking through for a debut, he chose not to seek a contract extension at the end of that season, opting instead to return to Ireland to pursue medical studies and resume his Gaelic football career.
