Bio
Recruited from Mordialloc, Archie Butler earned his opportunity at the highest level with South Melbourne during the 1903 VFL season. Arriving at the club alongside fellow Mordialloc recruit Charlie Butler, he broke into the senior side for two matches but struggled to secure a permanent position in the lineup. Unable to impact the scoreboard or retain his spot, his tenure at the Lake Oval was short-lived, with his elite career concluding after just that single season.
