Bio
Born on the Bellarine Peninsula, William "Archie" Grigg was the younger brother of Geelong Hall of Famer Dick Grigg, though he carved out his own brief VFL path with Melbourne immediately following the Great War. A returned serviceman who had enlisted with the Signal Engineers in 1915, Grigg joined the Fuschias for the 1919 season as the league attempted to stabilise its playing lists after the conflict. He managed just three senior appearances and booted a single goal, serving as a depth utility during a transitional era for the club. Following his short stint at the top level, he continued his football journey in Gippsland with Sale before a tenure with Prahran in the VFA, remaining a footnote in the game's history defined largely by his war service and his famous sibling.
