Bio
Archie Grikis is a developing key forward who emerged through the Sandringham Dragons pathway while making a significant impact at the local senior level. The tall forward cut his teeth in the Southern Football Netball League with Highett, where he proved a handful for mature defenders. He starred on his senior debut as a 17-year-old with a strong haul of goals on Good Friday, setting the tone for a successful local campaign that saw him claim the division's leading goalkicker award. Grikis also earned opportunities in the Talent League for Sandringham, where he tested himself against his peers and produced a standout performance up front against the Gippsland Power.
Standing at 194cm, Grikis profiles as a mobile target in attack. While he provides an aerial presence, talent scouts have noted his ability to do his best work when the ball hits the ground. He is capable of seizing on half-chances, crumbing loose balls and wheeling around to snap at goal, making him a dual threat inside the forward arc. Although he has not featured prominently in top-end draft calculations or representative squads, his proven ability to hit the scoreboard consistently highlights his potential as a developmental prospect.
