Bio
A basketball convert recruited as a Category B rookie in late 2013, Archie Smith entered the AFL system with elite athleticism but limited football experience. The son of former NBL star Andre Moore, he was a developing ruckman known for his exceptional vertical leap and tap work, though he often faced challenges adapting to the wider aerobic demands of the game. Despite spending eight seasons on the Brisbane list, Smith struggled to break into the senior side consistently, finding himself stuck behind established first-choice ruckman Stefan Martin and later the emerging Oscar McInerney. He managed just 16 games as a depth player before stepping away from the club during the 2021 season for personal reasons and subsequently announcing his retirement.
