Bio
Archie Watts is a general forward who has developed through the Brisbane Lions Academy and local Queensland club Morningside. Tied to the Lions, the club is expected to match any rival bid for the left-footer in the upcoming AFL Draft. Watts put together a busy draft year in 2026, representing the Allies at the National Championships and playing for the Lions Academy in the Talent League. His strong underage form was rewarded with senior state league exposure, leading to his VFL debut for Brisbane against the Gold Coast Suns.
A stylish player, Watts poses a constant threat when cutting inboard and wheeling onto his favoured left boot to deliver the ball inside 50. Scouts praise his clean hands in the clinches, his combative nature in the contest, and a nice wingspan that allows him to spoil and impact defensively. While observers note he can continue to refine his kicking on the run, his overall class and forward craft have caught the eye of recruiters. Rated as a top-100 prospect by draft analysts, Watts is widely expected to find a home at Brisbane.
