Bio
Selected by Essendon with pick 31 in the 2010 National Draft, Ariel Steinberg arrived from the Bendigo Pioneers as a promising forward but endured a prolonged apprenticeship before reaching the AFL level. He spent his first three seasons strictly in the VFL, eventually reinventing himself as an intercepting defender to earn his debut late in the 2014 season. Despite showing capability in the air across 10 senior games over two years, he was unable to cement a permanent spot in the Bombers' backline and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2015 season. His professional football journey effectively ended shortly after, as he was named one of the 34 past and present Essendon players suspended for the 2016 season due to the club's supplements saga.
