Bio
Arki Butler is a versatile forward and midfielder who has cemented his standing as a top-five prospect in the draft pool. Representing the Sandringham Dragons and Vic Metro, the National Academy member has impressed scouts with his strong football smarts and finishing. His top-age campaign featured a standout opening round performance for the Dragons, kicking multiple goals to earn Player of the Week honours. He carried that form into school football with Brighton Grammar and the National Championships, where a broken collarbone cut his state carnival short. He later returned from injury to help his school claim an APS premiership.
A creative playmaker who offers genuine pace and excellent field kicking, Butler is highly rated for his ability to impact the scoreboard and craft paths into attack. While expected to make an immediate impact as a small forward, scouts note he will need to continue building his endurance tank to eventually transition into an AFL midfield. The national draft combine invitee is widely considered one of the best available talents, with Essendon and Richmond heavily linked to him at picks one and two.
