Stats
Bio
Recruited from Clarence in the Tasmanian Football League, Arthur Budd arrived at the Lakeside Oval to test his mettle in the VFL during the 1969 season. Standing 185cm, he offered a versatile option for South Melbourne during a significant period of transition under legendary newly-appointed coach Norm Smith. Budd managed to break into the senior side for seven appearances in his solitary season at the club, booting two goals, but ultimately struggled to cement a permanent spot in a lineup that finished ninth on the ladder. His brief stint at the top level serves as a snapshot of the club's interstate recruiting efforts in the late 1960s, with Budd departing the VFL scene after just one year in the red and white.
