Bio
A pioneering figure for New South Wales football, Chilcott was the first player from the Illawarra region to break into the VFL senior ranks. He arrived at the Swans via Western Suburbs in the local Sydney competition, where he had already proven his quality by twice finishing equal third in the Phelan Medal. A capable forward with an eye for the big sticks, he showed significant promise during his debut 1984 season, most notably booting four goals in a spirited victory over Collingwood at the SCG. However, injuries derailed his momentum after a strong first year, and after managing just two appearances in 1985, he switched codes to play rugby league for the Balmain Tigers before eventually returning to Australian rules with Batemans Bay in the ACTFL.
