Stats
Bio
Arriving at Punt Road from Port Melbourne Juniors, Arthur Danks was a versatile utility who operated primarily as a centreman and half-back. His transition to the top level faced an early hurdle when a broken shoulder in only his third game derailed his debut 1912 campaign, but he recovered to become a consistent contributor for the Tigers over the subsequent three seasons. Noted for his exceptional fitness and dashing kicking style, Danks' emerging career was cut short by the call of duty in 1915. He enlisted in the AIF, serving in the 4th Artillery Brigade and claiming a Regimental Middleweight Boxing Championship while overseas, eventually trading his boots for a coaching role in the Preston district rather than resuming his VFL career.
