Bio
Born in the inner-suburb of Collingwood, Arthur Fox snr was a wartime footballer who made fleeting appearances for Richmond during the height of the Great War. He was called up to the senior list in 1917, debuting in a heavy loss against his suburb of birth, and managed just five games across two seasons as the Tigers grappled with player availability issues. Following his brief tenure in the VFL, Fox served his country as a Lance Corporal in the 57th Battalion. He later relocated his family to the Sunraysia district, settling in Mildura where he died prematurely at the age of 38. His footballing legacy was eventually extended by his son, Arthur Fox jnr, who was recruited from Red Cliffs to play as a wingman for South Melbourne in the late 1940s.
