Bio
Recruited from South Ballarat, Arthur Leech arrived at the Junction Oval in 1920 with a background defined by his service in the Great War, having enlisted with the 24th Battalion as a teenager. The country recruit was handed a debut in Round 9 against Melbourne, where he managed to boot a goal and offer a glimpse of potential as a forward option for the struggling Saints. Although he held his spot for the following week’s clash against Carlton, Leech was unable to cement a permanent position in the senior side. His VFL career concluded after just those two appearances, leaving him as a brief footnote in St Kilda’s history during a lean period for the club.
