Bio
Recruited from Wangaratta in 1930, Arthur Mills arrived at Glenferrie Oval alongside his younger brother Bert, who would eventually become a Team of the Century ruckman for the club. Originally hailing from Bethanga in Victoria's north-east, the elder Mills managed ten senior appearances in the brown and gold during a single-season stint, debuting in Round 5 against Fitzroy. While he could not replicate the longevity of his sibling at VFL level, he returned to country football to carve out a distinguished career in the Ovens & King Football League. He cemented his standing as a bush football star by winning the Charles Butler Medal as the league's best and fairest player in 1934 and captain-coaching the Waratahs to a premiership the following year.
