Bio
A local product who progressed from Hawthorn Juniors to the senior VFA side in 1922, Arthur Pearson was a foundational figure during the club's admission to the VFL. A prolific goal-kicker in the Association years—booting 54 majors in 46 games—Pearson remained with the 'Mayblooms' for their historic 1925 entry. He etched his name in the record books as a member of Hawthorn's inaugural VFL side that hosted Richmond at Glenferrie Oval, and was named among the team's best players in that milestone defeat. Standing 184cm, Pearson was a mature-age key position talent capable of influencing the contest at either end of the ground. He made just six appearances at the elite level before retiring at the end of the season, securing his legacy as one of the club's original VFL pioneers.
