Bio
A local product recruited from the Newtown Football Club, Arthur Pincott holds the distinction of representing Geelong in the VFL’s inaugural 1897 season. He established himself as a steadfast, stay-at-home defender, manning the backline for seven seasons during the league’s formative years. Pincott was a defensive purist who focused entirely on stopping the opposition rather than attacking, a trait evidenced by his failure to register a single goal across 72 senior appearances. He remained a constant figure in the Pivotonians' defence until his retirement at the end of the 1903 season.
