Bio
A diminutive but highly skilled rover recruited from Newtown, Arthur Pink was rapidly establishing himself as one of the VFL's premier small men before injury struck. After a breakout 1924 campaign where he represented Victoria at the Hobart Carnival and finished equal-fifth in the Brownlow Medal, Pink seemed destined to be a key figure in Geelong's hunt for a maiden flag. However, his career was cruelly cut short during the historic 1925 season; after injuring his knee in the opening round, he fought back to return in Round 13, only to suffer career-ending cartilage damage the following week against St Kilda. The blow forced him into immediate retirement at just 24 years of age, denying him a place in the side that claimed the club's first premiership just months later.
