Bio
Recruited from local side St John's, Artie Rennie was a defender who occupied a back pocket or half-back role during his three seasons at Windy Hill. He managed 23 senior games for Essendon between 1927 and 1929, serving primarily as a defensive rotation option before the arrival of his younger brother, Les Rennie, who debuted for the club in 1931. Rennie was cleared to Melbourne midway through the 1930 season but could not break into the Demons' senior lineup, though he found success at the lower level as a member of their back-to-back Seconds premiership teams in 1931 and 1932. He eventually departed the VFL system to continue his career with Prahran in the VFA.
