Stats
Bio
Artie Thomas arrived at the Junction Oval in 1910 after being recruited from Brunswick and made an immediate impact as a roving forward. In his debut season, he topped St Kilda's goalkicking list, booting 15 goals in an era where low scores were common. Thomas established himself as a consistent fixture in the lineup over the next two seasons, rarely missing a match as the team built towards competitiveness. Although he was on the list during the Saints' historic run to their first Grand Final in 1913, his on-field contribution that year was limited to a single appearance in the opening round, causing him to miss the eventual decider against Fitzroy. His family maintained a strong link to the club, with his brother Hugh Thomas serving as senior coach in the 1940s.
