Stats
Bio
Born in London, England, Artie White was a unique inclusion in the Essendon squad during their dominant 1901 campaign. Standing at 180cm, he possessed significant height for the era, allowing him to operate as a tall forward or follower capable of providing a target in attack. He broke into the senior side early in the season, managing to boot three goals across six appearances as the "Same Olds" established themselves as the league's pace-setters. However, White's career was ultimately a casualty of the team's immense depth; with the legendary Albert Thurgood returning to peak form and Fred Hiskins dominating the goalkicking, White was squeezed out of the rotation prior to the finals series. He missed selection in the premiership 18 that defeated Collingwood, leaving his brief VFL stint as a footnote to one of the club's most successful years.
