Bio
Recruited from West Perth, Ashley Blurton was a skillful utility drafted by the West Coast Eagles in 1994. Standing 177cm, he possessed the pace and creativity characteristic of Western Australian talent but found it difficult to crack a star-studded Eagles lineup fresh off their second premiership, managing just 10 games across three seasons. In search of greater senior opportunities, Blurton was traded to Richmond prior to the 1998 season. He found more game time at Punt Road, often deployed as a small forward or wingman where his speed could be an asset, but struggled to find consistency at the elite level. After adding 14 games to his career tally with the Tigers, he was delisted at the end of 1999 and returned to the WAFL, where he finished his playing days with Peel Thunder.
