Bio
Recruited from Mooroopna in the Goulburn Valley, Ashley Foley was a centreman who arrived at Geelong with strong country credentials. He enjoyed a promising debut season in 1936, playing 12 games and impressing with his work through the midfield, but found opportunities limited over the following two years as he drifted out of the senior side. Foley crossed to Essendon for the 1939 season in search of a second chance, adding seven games to his tally at Windy Hill before his league career concluded just as the Second World War began.
