Bio
Recruited from Dookie College, Athol Milne was a physically imposing figure for his era who represented University during the club's final tumultuous years in the VFL. Standing 184cm, he offered "The Students" a rare height advantage and key position presence in a side that was often outsized by its semi-professional opposition. His brief career spanned just two seasons as the club struggled for competitiveness, and like many of his contemporaries, his football journey was cut short by global events. Milne enlisted in the AIF following the outbreak of World War I, serving with the 24th Battalion, and did not return to the league after University disbanded in 1915.
