Austinn Jones

Recruited from the Dandenong Stingrays with pick 16 in the 1994 National Draft, Austinn Jones established himself as one of the competition's most damaging outside runners during a volatile era for St Kilda. Primarily operating from a wing or half-back flank, Jones was renowned for his blistering pace, capacity to tuck the ball under his arm for long dashing runs, and his ability to break opposition defensive zones. He was an integral part of the Saints' 1997 Grand Final side, earning his first All-Australian selection that year as a dynamic presence who provided crucial drive and goal-kicking power from the midfield.

Jones remained a loyal servant to the club through its rebuilding phases in the early 2000s, often rejecting lucrative offers from rival teams to remain at Moorabbin. As his career progressed, he matured into a composed rebounding defender, with his form in the Saints' 2004 preliminary final season earning him a second All-Australian blazer. He retired midway through 2005 as a one-club player and Life Member, widely regarded by supporters as a cult figure for the excitement and flair he brought to the side over more than a decade of service.
