Family

Arriving at Arden Street with the weight of expectation that comes with a famous surname, Bailey Scott was a unique prospect in the 2018 National Draft due to his eligibility for three separate clubs. The son of premiership player Robert Scott, he had the option to join Geelong or Gold Coast (via their Academy) but ultimately nominated North Melbourne, who matched a bid to secure him as a father-son selection. He made an immediate impact, earning a Rising Star nomination on debut, but spent his initial seasons oscillating between the senior side and the state league as he developed the physical resilience required for AFL level.

Initially deployed across half-forward, Scott truly found his calling when shifted further up the ground, developing into a tireless two-way runner capable of patrolling a wing or rebounding from half-back. His greatest asset is his elite endurance, which allows him to provide constant outlets for teammates and link play between the arcs. His consistency was publicly recognised during a breakout 2022 campaign where he finished third in the Syd Barker Medal, establishing himself as a vital cog in the Kangaroos' lineup during a prolonged rebuilding phase. Now surpassing the 100-game milestone, Scott has transitioned from a promising youngster into a reliable senior figure, offering stability and relentless work rate to North Melbourne's transition game.
