Bio
Recruited from Stawell in western Victoria, Barnett "Barney" Jenkins was brought into the Essendon fold during a dismal 1907 campaign that eventually saw the club claim the wooden spoon. The country forward made his debut in Round 10 against Melbourne, contributing a goal in one of the Same Olds' rare victories for the season at East Melbourne. Despite this promising start, he was omitted from the senior side for nearly two months before earning a recall for the final two matches of the year. He added a second major to his tally in his last appearance against South Melbourne, but his VFL career ultimately amounted to a brief three-game cameo before he faded from the league scene.
