Stats
Bio
Barrie Brown was a homegrown talent who progressed through the Richmond ranks, starting with the Under-19s in 1950 before graduating to the senior list. A defensive-minded player who spent three seasons honing his craft in the Reserves, he played 32 games at the lower level while waiting for his opportunity. He finally broke into the senior side in Round 3, 1952, making his debut against Fitzroy at the Brunswick Street Oval and retaining his spot for the following week's match. Unable to secure a permanent position in a Tigers lineup that included the likes of Roy Wright, Brown's VFL career was limited to just two senior appearances before he departed Punt Road, later continuing his football journey with Camberwell in the VFA.
