Stats
Bio
Recruited from South Bendigo, Barry Leslie was a tall utility who struggled to break into a strong Collingwood lineup during the late 1960s. After managing just a single senior appearance for the Magpies in 1967—a late-season victory over South Melbourne—he crossed to North Melbourne the following year in search of regular senior football. Leslie added another four games and a solitary goal to his tally at Arden Street but remained on the fringe of VFL selection. His most enduring mark on football folklore came after his top-level career, while playing for Preston in the VFA; in the 1971 Grand Final, he famously conceded a free kick to Dandenong star Jim 'Frosty' Miller before the opening bounce, a controversial moment that remains part of local football legend.
