Bio
Recruited from Camperdown in the Hampden League, Barry Rippon was a lively forward who made a brief cameo for Fitzroy during the 1963 season. He broke into the senior side for his debut against Melbourne in Round 4 and immediately showed an eye for the big sticks, booting two majors in his first outing. Despite playing in a struggling Lions outfit that would eventually claim the wooden spoon, Rippon managed a respectable return of five goals across just three games, operating as a dangerous option in attack. His time at the top level was short-lived, however, as he drifted out of the VFL almost as quickly as he arrived, leaving behind a statistically impressive strike rate during a difficult era for the club.
