Bio
Recruited from the Preston Thirds, Barry Roberts arrived at Brunswick Street as a promising tall prospect ahead of the 1957 season. Standing at 188cm, he possessed the height to operate as a key position player or relief ruckman, offering the Lions a structural option during a period of competitive promise for the club. He made his way into the senior side for a handful of games over two years, acting as a depth player while Fitzroy pushed towards finals contention, including their 1958 preliminary final run. Ultimately unable to command a permanent place in the starting eighteen, Roberts managed just nine senior appearances and booted a single goal before his VFL career came to a close.
